Who we are
The Geddes Institute has undertaken independent monitoring and evaluation of area-based regeneration work in Dundee since 1995. This has been carried out in conjunction with Dundee City Council, and began with Priority Partnership Areas (PPAs). PPAs become Social Inclusion Partnerships in 1997 and monitoring continued until Spring 2005, when they were replaced by the Community Regeneration Fund initiative.
What we do
We are currently involved in two main strands of research activity, both set within the context of Community Planning
- Ongoing monitoring of performance indicators based on Dundee's Regeneration Outcomes; this includes the collection and management of quantitative and qualitative data, both for the Community Regeneration Areas and on a Dundee-wide basis
- Independent qualitative evaluation of the performance of the Dundee Partnership
The monitoring remit of the Geddes Institute will be expanded in 2006 to include Dundee Partnership statistical indicators as outlined in the Dundee Community Plan. This work will be carried out in conjunction with Dundee City Council Corporate Planning Department.
