The International Congress on the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage (TICCIH)

- inaugeral conference held in 1973, drew together representitives from a number of countries with experience in industrial conservation. Conference was established on the basis that relatively little was being done to secure the future of the industrial heritage, and TICCIH set itself the challenge of rectifying the situation. TICCIH continues to organise conferences both at international and national level, and liases with ICOMOS and other bodies on matters relating to the industrial heritage. It is now literally a worldwide organisation with currently, representitives from 52 nations.
