Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes - (1987)
- jointly compiled by the Countryside
Commission for Scotland (now Scottish Natural Heritage) and the Historic Buildings and
Monuments Directorate (now Historic Scotland).
List of 275 sites considered representative of
the most important gardens and designed landscapes in Scotland. Not comprehensive and
currently being updated. Linked to statutes via General Development Planning Order Scotland
1992 which requires Local Authorities to consult the sponsors on developments proposed within
Inventory sites.
