Nogging
- a nog was always a wooden brick, but the term is now frequently used to describe any small piece of
wood.
Nogging is the infilling between timber frames, in
brick, either in horizontal
bonds, chevron or herring-bone patterns,
but the term is now often used to describe any material used for this purpose ie
plaster,
clay,
stone etc.
