Ormolu
- properly used, ormolu is an alloy of copper, tin and zinc, which once gilded, was used for frames and furniture
decoration, but the term also refers to the gilding of bronze or brass which was used extensively in
Georgian and
early Victorian interior decoration.
Chandeliers are probably the best known examples of the art.
