Sacrificial
- a material which is used or positioned in such a way that it will deliberately absorb
damage, and will also be more easily replaced than the material or detail it is protecting.
Examples would include lime
render or limewash
protecting the stonework
below or, an
additional lead flashing
saving the main flashing from alkaline run-off.
