Statutory consultees

- organisations which planning authorities must consult with over applications for listed building consent. There are a considerable number of such bodies in England eg Georgian and Victorian Societies. In Scotland there are fewer, instead all applications for listed building consent are advertised both locally and nationally, thereby putting the onus on amenity bodies to spot applications which may be of interest. RCAHMS and The Theatres Trust are the only bodies where consultation is obligatory.
