Time and lime / piece work / task work
- a method of paying for building work where time was the labour element and
lime signified the materials used. Depended to a large extent on trust and is now seldom
considered except where work may be very specialised and difficult to price in the normal way.
Piece work or task work is work that is paid on the basis of what
is produced, irrespective of how long it has taken.
