New! - more ice panoramas!

Yes, yes I have to admit it - the bears ARE those as featured in the Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth pages 146-147 and pages 86-7 of the Young person's guide. They didn't make the final cut of the film (but if you look carefully - just as the animation of the polar bear running out of ice finishes - you can see the foot of the mommy bear behind Al's head for a moment before they move on to the next section of the film - but you have to look very carefully and know the picture really well!).
And yes he is still using it in the actual slideshow and has since feb 2005ish.....

The ice page has an animated gif of a calving glacier, a bit wobbly, but to be expected from a Zodiac. Let's not forget those guillimots (gaggle of guillimots? guano of guillimots? no, hang on, a dry-cleaning of guillimots).

All the images on this site have been processed for onscreen viewing so will not give *very* good prints, but the screen is the medium. If anyone is interested in higher resolution versions of the pictures they are available.

For you Internet Explorer version... whatever... people out there - if you click on the panorama thumbnails on this site and don't get a screen-depth panorama to scroll along (ie it automatically resizes the whole thing to fit in the window.... thanks very much Microsoft... it I wanted it window size I would have sized it myself and saved the download times) then there are two things you can do.

1. Click on the thumbnail then point at the resulting fit-in-window version until , the resize button appears in the right bottom corner of the picture - click on it and enjoy the panorama as intended.
2. Go to your settings for your Browser (may vary slightly form version to version) - Tools -> Internet Options... -> Advanced tab -> Scroll down to "Multimedia" and untick the "Enable Automatic Image Resizing" option -> Click OK. Enjoy the whole site and the rest of the planet's sites as the creators intended, as opposed to how Microsoft think you want to see it.... not that I've got a social hymenopteran in my bonnet about this.... ahem.
