FL-40, MCON35 and Nikon 6T Macro lenses.... darkish shade
The pictures on this page are presented in chronological order, the thumbnails below are around about actual size (the one where she stops for a feed is about spot on)
This little spider was hanging about in a shady glade, waiting for lunch to fly by

a tasty hoverfly obliges, and this little spider paralises it and is wrapping away when....

It's spider two, what looks like a male, and I don't think he's here to court...

Then the trouble really starts

Here she seems to stop for a feed on the fly for about three minutes

Then back to the fray

Some really nice fangs unsheathed in this shot

After much to-ing and fro-ing, posturing, twanging of the web with their front legs.... they drop down on a single string in a clinch... I don't think they were mating as there was a lot of waving fangs going on
in the clinch and at no point preceding this point could I detect anything like the sperm-web in the males palps... but if anyone out there knows something I don't about these spiders, please enlighten!

The smaller male drops to the ground after this and the winner is....

She continues wrapping her prize

and carries it off to her pantry
